  1. Alaska 2010

Day11-Denali

Denali National Park and Preserve. Pictures from our 12 hour bus trip to Kantishna, the end of the 92 mile road into the park. This vast expanse (larger than the state of Massachusetts) is teaming with wildlife. The fall colors were close their peak during our visit on August 30 and 31, 2010. Use the "Map This" button to see where in the park the photos were taken.

  • Gray wolf. Note his radio collar. About 60 wolves are tracked for research, but Denali Park policy does not interfere in any way with the natural evolution of wildlife in the park - no feeding, rescuing, or manipulation of the populations of the species.
