Exposed for the chromosphere where temperatures are thought to be as high as 35,000 K at the outer edges. The chromosphere is only observable during a total eclipse because of the very bright photosphere below it.

9 image integration-Edit

Exposed for the inner corona. The greenish color at this exposure setting is caused by ionized iron XIV also called "Coronium" (thought to be a new element when first observed). It emits at 530.3 nm. The pink-magenta of the prominences is due to 3 lines of ionized hydrogen emission.

Here I have tried to show the delicate detail in the inner corona, the prominences, and earthshine on the Moon. There are artifacts but it does have a lot of detail. Still a work in progress. This image took lots of attempts using advanced processing routines available in PixInsight
